Registration and protection

Microchipping dogs without subsequent chip registration solves nothing. When municipal police bring a found dog to a shelter, the microchip number is typically searched across most private registries. In the Czech Republic, unique registries have gradually emerged, which are regularly updated but not interconnected.

Animal return

The Central Register of Animals and Objects collects information about animals and objects and records their owners. Its purpose is to return animals and objects to their owners. Through the Central Register, an owner can prove that an animal or object truly belongs to them. Shelters for abandoned animals, capture services, and others search the register. Data from the Central Register is also used by international search services, for example International Registry Search.
